Reproduction of Found - Canadian Military Trainer
When thinking of military footwear, tactical field boots from the USA or the iconic German army trainer shoes usually come to mind first. It was pleasantly surprising to discover the low key Canadian equivalent known simply as the Canadian Military Trainer. For our inaugural FW21 season, we have brought in Reproduction of Found’s decisive rendition of this trainer, known as No.1059CL which is manufactured in the same factories that made the originals in the 90’s.
The elements of the silhouette are rather minimal; the design features less panelling than other military footwear and modern sneakers alike while maximizing emphasis on a few exceptional materials, notably Cordura® nylon. Making up the majority of the upper, Cordura® technology provides functional benefits through being lightweight yet durable, highly breathable, and most importantly, water and stain resistance. Reproduction of Found is known for their use of high quality Italian leathers and utilizes a smooth full grain leather around the toe cap and heel, providing a luxurious finish to the high wear areas of the shoe. A contrast leather lining in a natural colour peeks around the opening and addas a welcoming feel to the sophisticated aesthetic. Finally, setting it apart from previous versions, instead of the standard EVA outsole, the No.1059CL is finished with a tactical sole unit wit a rugged tread that contrasts the modest design of the rest of the shoe.
Overall, the lesser known Canadian Military Trainer has seriously paved the way for modern sneaker styles just as much as its regional counterparts. The No.1059CL from Reproduction of Found offers a welcome alternative option for those looking to incorporate something meaningful yet also functional into their footwear rotation.
