Healthknit - Hefty Rugby Jersey Shirt

Rugby shirts were first incepted around 1830 in England, and made from wool, a historically important natural fibre beloved for its technical properties. Eventually, cotton took over as an industry and lifestyle standard, creating the classic cotton rugby top we know today.

Paying homage to this classic sportswear/prep silhouette, Healthknit has created an impactful reimagination this season, utilizing a heavyweight cotton jersey almost akin to sweatshirt fabric. The end result is a one of a kind long sleeve top that looks effortlessly clean, yet retains the spirit of heritage through details such as the contrast white collar and ribbed cuffs. The fabric is a unique, 13 oz cotton jersey that is meant to break in as the garment is worn, developing a characteristic patina while softening over time.
